Day 2 of The 16th Oakland International Film Festival will be held on April the 4th, 2018.
On this day, April 4th, 1968, 50 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated in Memphis, TN.

A man who promoted peace. Who fought for all will be remembered on this day of The 16th Oakland International Film Festival. The theme of the day and festival this year is the title of the last book he wrote: “Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?

Where Do We Go From Here?

In honor of Dr. King’s legacy this years 39th Annual OUSD Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Festival is also using the : Where Do We Go From Here?” theme, which we plan to showcase in this years 16th Oakland International Film Festival.

We look forward to working once again with Holy Names University Asian Pacific Peace Studies Institute in presenting “the day of Peace.”
