Soundtrack for a Revolution Oscar Nomination Hopeful Celebration with Danny Glover

To also assist Haiti as filmmakers Bill Guttentag and Dan Sturman sign on to appear
Historic Third Baptist Church, near Alamo Square will be site of NAACP Benefit Screening
of Soundtrack for a Revolution that will now also assist the survivors of the Haitian Earthquake.
San Francisco- "The Soundtrack for a Revolution Oscar Nomination Hopeful Celebration with Danny Glover," on the actual birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at Third Baptist Church in San Francisco lead by NAACP President the Reverend Dr. Amos Brown will include fundraising for Haiti which was hit by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake on Tuesday.
"Yes, this event started out as a benefit for the NAACP and that it is, but as people gather together in Third Baptist Church to pay homage to the Civil Rights era that helped the suffering of so many people, we must also engage everyone to help the Haitian people now," said Jacquie Taliaferro of LaHitz Media which is presenting the event.
LaHitz Media and Wright Enterprises presenters of  "Soundtrack for a Revolution Oscar Nomination Hopeful Celebration with Danny Glover" will ask the audience to write checks payable to the American Red Cross and/or Hollywood Unites for Haiti, a non profit founded by actor Jimmy Jean-Louis, "the Haitian" in the NBC hit series "Heroes."  Jimmy Jean-Louis was in the Bay Area last October for the debut at the Oakland International Film Festival of "Life Outside the Pearl," a film by Johnny Desarmes in which Jean-Louis stars as a detective.  Jean-Louis also participated in the launch of the LaHitz Media, Wright Enterprises, Afric' Elance and Baobab Motion's    "Help Mama Africa"  during the Cannes International Film Festival May 2009.
"I have seen Jimmy's appeal on Hollywood Unites for Haiti" website and its heart breaking to know he has not been able to reach his family and friends," said Jackie Wright of Wright Enterprises co-presenter of  "Soundtrack for a Revolution Oscar Nomination Hopeful Celebration."  " I know Jimmy is a compassionate humanitarian filled with grace and love for people.  It would be unconscionable for us to be gathered in a church on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday and not ask people to help Haiti.  It is totally within the spirit of the Civil Rights movement and the film.   Also, it makes sense from a spiritually synchronistic perspective as well given Danny Glover's Loverture Films with Joslyn Barnes and their goal to produce a film on Toussaint L'Overture and Haiti.  He talked a little about that during a radio interview on KPOO Tuesday,"  (Listen to podcast about the event on Community Worker with Danny Glover, Dan Sturman, Jackie Wright, and host Eric Smith, engineered by Roland Washington: http://redtapsessions.com/?p=552).
"Soundtrack for a Revolution" is a multicultural project that reignites the Civil Rights story through music. (READ MORE)
