Southern Edge of the Cloud

Xinxin and Musu are Naxi (Nashi) ethnic group s young people in Yunnan. These two young siblings were raised by their grand-mother in a rural village of Lijiang where people still practise Dongba language (a series of ancient dialects and the ancient pictographic writing) and Dongba culture. When their grand-mother passed away, Xinxin and Musu wanted to follow the heart of their most beloved one, their grand-mother, so they decided to start an endless journey to look for the Southern Edge of the Cloud; a place their grand-mother dearly loved although they do not really know where it is exactly. According to what their grand-mother described, Southern Edge of the Cloud; is like a paradise, where she left her soul and a lot of happy memories of her life.

Acha Acha Cucaracha: Cucaño strikes again

Acha Acha Cucaracha: Cucaño strikes again

In 1979, at time of a cruel dictatorship, Cucaño emerged in the city of Rosario, Argentina. A group of experimental art integrated by very young young people, their action gave some light to the ominous darkness of those times. Today in their fifties, its former members reclaim those actions of their first youth and persist, each of them in his/her own way.

Areka is the result of the creative collaboration of about twenty young artists. The mould of traditional Basque culture (Bersolarismo) comes together with visual experimentation, being inspired by a bertso created by Andoni Egaña specifically for this project. All of the creators worked collaboratively, sharing both work techniques and practices and experiences, thus enabling mutual learning. For this reason, the film is visually very consistent.

The Ditch

Euxebi’s father was killed during the war. In her youth, Euxebi suffered Francoist repression and, to this day, despite the fact that the dictatorship ended long ago, she has not had the change to recover the memory of her father. After many years, when they finally open the grave where he is, Euxebi puts a picture next to his bones

It’s Tight But It Hardley Chokes

Daniel goes to a job interview. If selected, he will be in charge of walking Siegfried, Cosme’s dog. But Siegfried is a fierce dog and, if the right instructions are not followed, he can become fearsome.

For The Good Times

On the birthday of the patriarch of the family, one of his sons decides to come out of the closet and test the tolerance of his nearest and dearest. But the surprises that he has up his sleeve do not end there.

Someone

Eckhardt

Eckhardt is on his way to the employment agency. He is thinking about his life, and ends up remembering his wild, erotic relationship with Mariana, which gave him more insight into the interconnectedness of life than his years of academic study of philosophy and literature. This short portrait of the intellectual and emotional life of the young humanities scholar Eckhardt – a man literally incapacitated by his own mind – is illustrative of a young academic elite that is useless to the labour market.

You And Me

Two college-time friends embark on a long drive on a Sunday morning, leaving their bustling city lives behind. As they amble through the hilly roads, they reveal to each other, their old longings and hidden pasts. Their rose-tinted nostalgia is broken and they come face to face with their imperfect lives.

The Best of The Worlds

A kid´s true story of his life in the unusual world of his heroin addict mother and their love of each other.

The Girls Were Doing Nothing

The Girls Were Doing Nothing is a study into the conflicting nature of love and the human soul – our basic needs for stability, comfort and routine which clash with equality strong desires for novelty, variety and freedom. Marta and Jake are a married couple in their late 30’s. Working in senior professional positions, they are very wealthy: living together in a luxurious cosmopolitan home while spending much of their free time eating at expensive restaurants and exercising at private gyms. Their idealistic lifestyle is a grandiose means of concealing and deflecting the strains of their spousal dynamic. For Jake and Martha, communication has become an obligation; intimacy has become a rarity; and love itself has become a cliché. All of that is about to change when Andrea, their attractive and affable neighbour, asks Jake and Marta for a favour while she goes on holiday.
