Why Rediscover Oakland?

Over the past years of presenting The Oakland International Film Festival, we have been honored to work with various venues throughout the city to accommodate film connoisseurs. Typically, each year, our festival has grown through old and new relationships we have built and continue to incorporate into our common vision of programming various film related activities at happening places in Oakland.

Sadly, for the first time, the COVID disruption, not only prevented us from hosting screenings / gathering indoors, but also put a severe strain on local, small businesses in Oakland, who have provided their venues to enable our ability to host The Oakland International Film Festival.

For example, Luka’s Lounge – a place we held “The House of Shorts” day and evening screenings is now closed.
Lungomare at Jack London Square, a place we held interviews and mixers is also closed.

If you know of a place in Oakland that would be perfect to host screenings, network events, parties, panels, etc., please feel free to contact us at locations@oiff.org
